Google is releasing a new feature for Android users that warns them of new device sign-ins.
In the past Google used email and/or SMS to warn users of potential security threats when it came to Google accounts. Now, the company is bringing those notifications straight to your Android device.
When a new device accesses your Google account, you’ll see a notification saying “Did you just sign in?” If it was you, then you can go into the notification and see two choices:
- YES, THAT WAS ME
- NO, SECURE ACCOUNT
- Release Track: Launching to both Rapid release and Scheduled release
- Rollout Space: Gradual rollout (potentially longer than 14 days for feature visibility)
- Impact: All end users
- Action: Change management suggested/FYI
