LiquidVPN has put forth this policy with the sole objective of protecting its users online privacy.

LiquidVPN maintains assets around the globe and is subject to the laws set forth by the jurisdictions where these assets reside. LiquidVPN will uphold the laws, respond in an appropriate way to infringements and let law enforcement investigate criminal activity on our network if required by law.

Additionally LiquidVPN would choose to voluntarily shut down some or all of its network and relocate to another jurisdiction before allowing a violation of your privacy to occur. We have begun publishing a Warrant Canary to prevent any interventions with an accompanying “gag order.”

LiquidVPN will always keep you informed via its Transparency Reports and Network Status updates about the status of its network including abuse complaints, how it responds to abuse and interventions from government agencies. Our abuse department is always available to handle and receive abuse complaints. Any time LiquidVPN receives a complaint related to activities harmful to another human being it will be prioritized and handled by our Ethics group.

Our ethics group will carefully evaluate each complaint and the included evidence. If our ethics team agrees that our network is being used to cause damage they will attempt to mitigate the damages being done from our network. Mitigation may include closing ports, creating null routes, adding layer 7 filters, connection/rate limiting, packet marking or even shutting down a node. The ethics group may report its findings to appropriate authorities if applicable or specialized non governmental groups like MaxMind, fraudlabs, Paypal, network security/malware experts, academic researches or our data-center.

Please be aware that our ethics group will not investigate complaints regarding

  • Freedom of speech, thought or expression
  • Corporate or governmental whistleblowing
  • Intellectual property and copyright
  • Pornography
  • Sexual, political, religious orientation
  • Freedom of the Press and investigative journalism

Abuses regarding the above issues are handled on a first come first serve basis. They will be published and if they violate our terms or the law then the action we intend to take will be included. We will do one of the following. Ignore the report, block ports, protocols, sites or files, shut down servers, allow the authorities to inspect parts of the network or get rid of our assets in the jurisdiction. Our course of action will be published at the bottom of the Transparency Report.

In addition to complying with the rule of law set forth by the jurisdiction from which we operate we will follow the ethical principles contained within this page.

LiquidVPN hereby claims the statements outlined in its code of ethics to be a contracting obligation to remain transparent and keep its users informed be it directly or via the warrant canary of all interventions and investigations impacting the privacy of its users.
